Re: [Avid-L2] AMA Relink Question

Thank you Michael,
It's very helpful to know that you've had success with that.
Thanks again.
Cheers,
Benjamin

To relink a sequence:

AMA Red footage.  Transcode.  Keep the original AMA footage in a bin - put the transcodes in another bin (or organized in several bins).

Edit and lock your cut.

Open AMA bin and sequence bin.  Duplicate sequence. Select all AMA footage.  Select Sequence.  Choose to relink and in the relink option choose "Relink to selected items in all open bins". Hit OK.

It should relink the sequence to the AMA footage.

I've done this workflow and it worked with Red footage.

Hi gang,

I'm wondering how it's possible (what the steps are) in order to do the following:

1. AMA link to a file (e.g. RED) <--- that I know how to do ;)

2. Consolidate/Transcode the clip in MC (yep, I can do that too)
-- OR -- Transcode the clip in Red Cine X (I assume the resulting Master Clip is the same as if created in MC).

3. Relink the clip that was Consol-/Transcoded to the original RED file <---- haaalp ;)

This workflow is supposed to be possible with a Sequence too, correct?

Thanks for any guidance or links to info on this.

Happy Friday everyone!

Benjamin
