No need to trash the .new clips and relink the original AMA clips. They both hold the same metadata. It works but there's no need.
My trick is to take the transcoded avid mediafiles offline temporarily while you do the relink to selected open bins.
Do a guide mixdown of video first and work on a video only copy of sequence. No point relinking audio as the transcoded audio is fine.
