I've had the 3G (free) driver on my laptop for years and it's always worked
fine for me - though admittedly, I've mainly used it for transfers, not
really for serious file-access (like editing.)
Out of interest, are you comparing the performance of the Paragon NTFS
driver with the (free) "NTFS-3G" driver or the higher-performance (paid)
Tuxera "NTFS for Mac"?
