[Avid-L2] FCP to Avid

Hi All again,

One more question or discussion. I know this has been discussed time and time again. I am moving a client from FCP to Avid. When I began speaking with them I was aware they were shooting footage already and loading it to FCP, but was unaware how far they've gone in FCP till this week. We are a few weeks from getting them converted to full  MC stations but they are working with more and more footage everyday and I need to get them converting stuff now on trial software till their new machines arrive..

My job now is to get all of the Bins and cut SEQ into Avid. My thought was to start with their reels and move them over. Most of the footage is C300, Mark II, and Ex1. It was already converted to ProRes and there is a lot of it. They will be cutting in XDCAM 50, 23.98 in Avid.  I know that you can Automatic Duck the Seq and do an ALE to import the bins and that clips in the bins will not link with the seq and I have a plan for that. What I'm not sure how to do is once I export an ALE and import the bin info into a bin how best to link files. Should I go back to the raw material and reimport from Scratch? Does anyone have a process that works?

Thanks,
