It's been a few years ish since I was sent an IMX file. I think it was mpeg50 if that makes sense. I remember trying to find the qt component to play it and import it into the Avid and it was ridiculously expensive a few years back. I'm probably just having a brain fart but when did this become more easily obtainable to read and write? This was probably 2 plus years ago on a pc symphony.
