[Avid-L2] Recommends for rack storage… 24-36TB / >1000MB/s / $5000-12000

 

Hi folks, I'm looking for feedback on high end storage. There seem to be a lot of options out there right now that hit the same spot. 12drive rack arrays that fit in a 2-3 RU slot, take 2 or 3TB drives providing 24-36TB of space, most connect via mini SAS using an ATTO R360 or similar, most get at least 1000MB/s, and most cost anywhere between $5000 and $12K.

I actually like the lacie 12big storage so far. I hate lacie as a company, but these seem to be OEM'd from Xyratex who makes storage for autodesk and the Xyratex arrays on the smoke systems I've worked on are very fast and very quiet.

I'm also looking at products from MAxx digital, JMR, and Proavio, but don't have experience with any of these companies. The Dulce stuff seems comparatively overpriced.
