Your computer is too slow.
the XF stuff is XDcam style video. Avid does that natively.
The H264 has to be transcoded on the fly, and that is not an easy task.
So, transcode to something else and you'll be fine.
Now, you can do a normal import (gives you the option to scale from RGB to
709), or AMA the files in and transcode from there.
(consolidate / transcode). Will be faster but with no control over what
happens.
And yes, it takes time, and yes, that sucks, and no, there is no other way
that i know of.
