[Avid-L2] Re: Non "aluminum" Mac keyboards?

Apropos of nothing in particular -- I can't help but wonder if some innovations that might present themselves in v.6 might render (no pun intended) existing and traditional Avid keyboard mappings to be somewhat obsolete. I'm not suggesting the possibility of wholesale changes -- just maybe a couple of keys that might access some new, oft-used, features.

Of course, things might not change that much at all -- and it's maybe better if they don't (Reference: SmartTool and FCPX -- to name but a few).

But if they do -- it might be wise if Avid offered a legacy keyboard mapping template option -- so that customers could simply continue to use existing keyboards -- albeit, possibly without new dedicated keys that may access new features that might be mapped, by default, going forward.

I'm long overdue for a new keyboard (PC), although certainly not destitute, but I think I'll tough it out until v.6 is released on the assumption that maybe something will have changed.

Might be a good time to invest in a keyboard company -- although since they are all (surprisingly) mostly bad -- I can't imagine which one.
