Re: [Avid-L2] Re: Avid Percent of NLE sales compared to FCP

Unity and ISIS may support Final Cut Pro (and potentially Premiere Pro
simply by being a SAN) but then again EditShare's solution probably does
that better for a wide range of products.

What Avid is selling with a solution like ISIS is a unified system. Without
the NLE that is integrally tied into the server and MAM system their product
really isn't nearly as appealing. Avid make sales in that arena by being
able to provide top-of-the-line products to all connect together across the
larger system.

ISIS, ProTools, NewsCutter, iNews, Interplay - without the completely
integrated workflow offered by their NLE (NewsCutter in this case) it would
be a lot less likely that the whole package would sell.

While the direct sales of the NLE products (NewsCutter, Media Composer and
Symphony) do not make up a majority of Avid's profit, they are pivotal in
the success of many of their other products, and the large systems
integration sales.
