[Avid-L2] Re: Failure to capture

I am new to the group, and just searched the Avid-L2 archive for the error message similar to the one listed in the post below. I am editing on an iMac, just upgraded to Avid MC 5.5.1, am on Mac OS 10.6.3 (just set it to update to 10.6.8) I am using a Sony DCR PC110 NTSC with firewire. First hour tape captured fine. Not been able to do any more without getting the error I list below after part of the tape loads. Tried restarting everything and tried multiple times.

Exemption:Std::exception, what "Bus error" in thread "Alertabletimer", at address OXO

Anyone find a solution to this one?

Joanne

I can't capture more than one or two clips before I get 'Exception: std::exception, what" "Bus error" in thread "AlertableTimer", at address 0x0'. Mostly after capturing from In-Out rather than on-the-fly. MacBookPro 3GB RAM, OS 10.6.5. Tried on another McBookPro (4GB RAM, 10.6.5, Mc 3.0.3.5). Same problem. Unusable. Using a Sony DSR45P deck in a PAL project. Done the usual. Trashed settings, new project, new user etc. I will now try with a couple of DV cameras to see if it works. Anyone?
