I can understand the thought that Symphony should include everything (meaning ScriptSync).

At the higher price of Symphony, it's probably easier for Avid to include it in the cost.

Also, Symphony is not at that commoditized level of editing that Media Composer and FCP are, so having a higher price isn't terrible.

But also, Symphony is a "finishing tool" so it really doesn't need it, right?

I am only half-kidding. I have done almost all of my "off-line" editing on a Symphony ever since it came out, so I certainly understand that Symphony is not JUST for on-line. But what is the benefit of SciptSync to an on-line editor?
