What happens in that case? It's a digital signal, isn't it, so I'd think of it as more like a bunch of square waves like time code signal. If it's backwards would that ground out the signal or invert it's polarity? Is an AES signal Bi-Level or Tri-Level? IIRC a Time Code signal tends to detect the Zero cross but I might be a little fuzzy there. I do remember the time code sync word was 11 ones in a row. What is the AES sync word structure or is that negated by the use of a Word Clock? Just when I thought this was going to be a boring rainy Monday now I have some googling to do.
