From the link I see at the end QT Ref not supported but they also list "same as source" but I can't tell if that is same as source QT Ref or Same as Source in the typical Avid sense:



* AVI Import is still supported on Windows systems without QuickTime installed
* Linking for BMP is not supported without QuickTime, however Import of BMP is supported without QuickTime
* Note this is just PNG in a MOV container; PNG image files will still be supported

Please Note: Media Composer often used QuickTime to link/import files when the preferred method was not available (if the file used an unsupported format, etc.) This could mean that additional files not listed here will not link/import properly without QuickTime installed.
