First off, thanks for summarizing the changes.
"Does it matter?" That's the question I was trying to get at it the first place. When Avid issues a press release saying new purchasers won't be able to run older versions due to "licensing issues", it makes me wonder if there is going to be something missing in the new software that was available in the old versions. If so, it would be good to know what that might be. If not, then no -- it doesn't matter.
