Re: [Avid-L2] Can't Import Canon XA-20 MTS files into MC 7.0.4 - BONEHEAD ERROR

Well, gentlemen (and gentlewomen) -

My problems accessing Canon XA-20 MTS raw media files from Media Composer 7.0.4 were entirely self-inflicted. Yep!

AMA linking in Media Composer 7.0.4 works just file with the Canon XA-20 MTS files. I had specified the AMA folder option in the AMA link dialog box. When I changed the option to MTS file, the AMA link access worked flawlessly.

Many thanks for the constructive suggestions. I will now slink back into my lurker hole and consult with my optometrist, psychiatrist, and bartender to re-examine my vision, judgement, and stress levels.

Resolve is free and can transcode almost anything to a useable edit format. You could do that on a laptop if you're not allowed to put stuff on the editorial computer. Worth a try.
