It's more like it loses its way. There's a graphic that is fine in a sequence (in this case typing on letters) and then at some point it becomes a graphic that says "Enter Text" with no animation...which to me doesn't seem like a font issue.
I assume at that point it must be referring to another file somewhere but has lost its link. Maybe it's a render file. Maybe it's some sort of NBTP file. I'm trying to better understand that underlying organization.
When one works in NBTP coming out of the Avid timeline/effects interface into the NBTP interface, it offers to save a project file but when you are done, it asks if you want to save your changes (even if you save the project). If yes, it then churns out some other "stuff" when you quit from the interface. What is exactly happening there and where do those files go?
It could be that when I got the sequence, I should have made sure to get the NBTB project files. If the specific graphic becomes unrendered than it goes looking for that project file and if they aren't there, defaults to "Enter Text".
In short, I just don't understand the relationship between the Avid sequence and the NBTB project file and whatever those files are that it creates when you quit the interface.

Not sure if you've solved it. If it's a graphics issue - an honest to god text issue - there's no reason you shouldn't be able to dial it up by opening the project, unless you don't have the font in question; but, if there was an asset attached to it, that may not have ported over when you received the project, and that would mean that you aren't going to be able to re-create it just by opening, but will have to rebuild.
