[Avid-L2] Re: Haaalp! ;)

Hi Bryan and Jolene,
It's Ben again… your favorite pain in the ass…

I filled out the form at the link below the other day, and haven't heard back.
It was no big deal for me to wait, but I had a call this afternoon about doing some training, and now of course it's an issue for me. I know the saying, "Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part," but I'm hoping you'll take pity on me!

Or, just let me know the latest secret handshake on how to reset the trial license. I'm using the method that's worked fine in the past, but now with 8.9.4 I'm locked out (!).

Related:
I've also signed-up to schedule the v8.6 recert test (did that earlier, too, and also sent a follow-up email yesterday), but I haven't had any confirmation for it.

Thanks you guys!!

Benjamin

Avid Education is pleased to announce the release of the Media Composer 8.6 Courseware and ACI Recertification Training!

OVERVIEW
Avid Education is releasing an all-new curriculum for Media Composer v8.6 to certify students on the latest versions of Media Composer.  The new curriculum has been redesigned to offer integrated, progressive training on picture and sound editing, combined with visual effects work, project management and technical troubleshooting skills in every course.

Avid Education is also releasing ACI recertification training to educate ACIs on the design of the new courses, as well as the new Media Composer features that appear in the curriculum.

ACIs are required to update their certification prior to teaching the updated courses.

The ACI Recertification Process is simple:
  1. Register online.
  2. Watch the online instructor training videos.
  3. Schedule your exam.
  4. Take and pass the online recertification exam.
Upon completion, you will receive:
  • A 1-year NFR license for Media Composer.
  • Digital copies of the MC101 and MC110 v8.6 courseware.
  • And, access to EditStock.com to download course media.
Registration for ACI Recertification opens Monday, Aug.22:

DOWNLOADING COURSE MEDIA

All course media and assets will be available for download via EditStock.com

Each ALP will be given an access code with which they may create a download account on EditStock.com. Your EditStock.com account will be a general account, for use by all ACIs at the ALP.

Each ALP will only need to create ONE account on EditStock.com. This account may be shared amongst the ACIs at the same ALP.

Full instructions for creating the account, along with the necessary access code, will be distributed to each ALP upon placing their first v8.6 book order, or upon recertification of an ACI at the ALP.

To your continued success!
Bryan

Hi Bryan and Jolene

So… I still haven't taken the 8.6 recert test (what do I need to study and/or watch?).
Buuut… I've previously been limping along by resetting the trial license . . .
Buuuuut… now it won't let me do that :(
I'm guessing something has been changed in the latest release (?).

Can I get a temp license so I can study for the recert?
I swear I'll take it… I just want to be properly prepared – failing would be awfully embarrassing!

Thanks you guys!

Cheers,

Benjamin
