Re: [Avid-L2] A little help from Resolve > Avid > Resolve Experts

That's where I'm struggling. Not getting back to Media Composer, but getting resolve to find the correct camera originals.

I may of skipped something critical in creating the dailies - and it's probably more than a hundred hours at this point.

Yet, there's no place to create a tape name, that I can see, when rendering dailies out of resolve. Are you saying I have to make sure the 'reel name' column in resolve is populated before rendering dailies?

In media composer, can I copy the source clip name in the 'tape name' column? currently the 'tape name' is database info like msmMMOB, etc.

What's happening is I'm either getting nothing in my AAF'd sequence after import (relink to source camera files, some of which are in the media pool), or I get anything with a timecode that matches if I disable 'assist using reel names.' Then, I have to rubber-monkey every single shot shot.

This is a big project with DNG source spread out over multiple archive drives, offlined DNx36. Now I'm consolidating in Resolve (media managing) from each Media Archive until I have all the DNG collected onto my fast raid.

Any tips appreciated.

It's been a tick since I've done this and I'm missing some critical step that's bunging up my conform, and need help seeing the trees through the forest. (Phone / Email / iChat)
