MY OWN UPDATE… MC 8.8.1 and 8.8.82 has a known bug that prevents it from playing nice with Canon C300 XF-AVC files. Apparently the bug is fixed and will be pushed in the next update. For now the solution was to back-rev to 8.7.2 and use the Canon plug-in (which is not supposed to be necessary in 8.8.x).

At first I thought perhaps it had something to do with this new Canon material, and I tried opening other projects, but I'm getting the same pandemic of crashes. Perhaps something in the State or Settings files that needs to be trashed? I'm open to anything. Very upset.
Is anyone aware of anything that might be contributing to this? I'm on a 5K iMac, again, 10.10.5. MC 8.8.2.
