Or put another way, Avid is turning into a company that wants to make 30% of everyone else's products. In that universe it makes sense to use someone else's hardware and tack on their own take. Or someone else's title tool, color corrector, etc.

It's 1K more for the Avid sticker on the box. And you can still get a deal some places on the "upgrade" from other I/Os you might have laying around which knocks 600 off of it.
Bu the reality is, unless you are doing a lot of capturing off tape to DNx, want the Avid tech support, or use Fusion a lot out of Avid, there is no point in spending the extra money.
