If you AMA and the clip does not come in with either a Start or End time, dump it and re-AMA it until it does. Any time a clip is linked and it's missing one of those values, the clip will fail in transcoding. Most of the time you won't know because Start and End are not always columns you have visible. On Tue, Oct 11, 2016 at 3:19 PM, Wilson Chao wilsonchao@gmail.com [Avid-L2] <Avid-L2@yahoogroups.com> wrote:
Over the years I've seen all sorts of such problems. Some clips will crash MC when I try the AMA-and-transcode route but will import Ok. Some clips will consistently fail in a batch import but will always import one-at-a-time. Some clips will come in and edit seemingly without a problem but then won't compress going out; I'll have to export same-as-source and re-compress later. Go figure. On Tue, Oct 11, 2016 at 11:55 AM, Lou Wirth loutv@mindspring.com [Avid-L2] <Avid-L2@yahoogroups.com> wrote:HI
Im transcoding clips from a DP I work with often. Never had an issue with his material that he shoots on an FS7. This time, while transcoding, I get random errors every once in a while and the clip won’t transcode. Duration varies from 1 minute to 4 minutes. Like now, I have som 45 clips to transcode and every once in a while it stops with an error. I move past that clip and it then goes on. 4 clips so far out of this 45. Yesterday it was only one clip and I opened in QT Pro and exported as Pro Res. It then transcoded no problem.
What could be the issue with these random clips? Or could it have nothing to do with the clips and its some Avid thing?
Anyone else run into this?
thanks
