Not sure what you are seeing, but when I have the Media Tool open, in the Bin menu I see "Sift Selected Items"
Note: This is contextual. It only appears if you actually have items selected.

Anyone know where this menu item went in MC 8.5? I use "sift selected" all the time and now I don't see it. Had to hunt around just to find select sources and reverse selection.
