I had a show today that is a cut down of the DVD version and I had used a lot of segment mode color correction to break the relational color link on my SNDX 5.5.5. That version still has the bug with switching to master clip based color correction as far as I know. The master clip relational color correction bug/redesign was restored to it's proper operation on Ver. 6. If anyone knows if that ever got fixed in Ver. 5.5.5 I'd like to know.
At any rate I took the project home and upgraded my home system to 8.3 and the merging of segment color correction first worked like a charm. My use of segment mode color correction was just to break the relational link to other similar name "Src Clip Name" shots and not to correct iris shifts so it seems to have done the job after comparing 5 of the segment mode color corrections from the original sequence to the merged sequence things seem have merged correctly. This saved me the hassle of having to over cut from the original sequence and is quite slick. I'd read about the new feature and now I've actually used it and it seems to work as I would have hoped. Nice addition saved me a lot of time.
Feature request: Producer Merge. Activating Producer merge will automatically merge any unwanted producer out of the edit bay. Of course personally I always want producers in my bay, but I've heard this request from other editor's so I figured I should pass it along. ;-)
