We also have Flip4Mac installed for this purpose, don't use it much but have never had files rejected by the recipients.

Windows Media Player doesn't always play nice. Just this week I uploaded a bunch of HD videos to Vimeo, which automatically re-encodes them as SD for playback to low-bandwidth clients. I downloaded Vimeo's SD versions to check them; they are H.264 w. MP4 wrappers, and they play fine with QuickTime, with VLC and with the freeware "Media Player Classic", but Windows Media Player plays the video without the audio. Go figure.

Hi Craig,
No suggestions that answer your question I'm afraid, but have you tried offering your clients MP4s? All of my clients are very happy to receive MP4s these days where they used to ask for WMVs in the past.
Cheers,
Tony

Subject: [Avid-L2] WMV recommendations
I often have to encode WMV files for corporate clients. I edit on a Mac so when I use Sorensen Squeeze to encode from a ProRes or DNxHD file it takes a long time (10 hrs for a 96 minute program!) and, the audio is out of sync when the WMV is played on the Mac. I have to check the WMV on a Windows computer to verify sync is good.
Any recommendations for encoding WMVs when you are Avid Mac-based? Other software? Or good experiences (quality, speed, cost) with any online encoding services?
Thanks in advance
