Well F me skipping. Turns out I did set it right but many of the prores .movs don't have audio. I did have to enable audio in the project settings and then enable render audio in the delivery section, that part I missed the first time but once properly set Resolve started on a clip with no audio so I thought I still had things wrong. I'd slap myself silly but at this point I wouldn't notice a difference.
