While it does not show in the AJA Control Panel when first loading Media Composer, MC is switching modes when various modules are invoked. When switching to Capture mode, the AJA Control Panel indicates a setting changes that would invoke cross conversion in the Kona, though the cross-conversion icon doesn't appear.
I guess this means that if I want to capture SD, I have to change the project format prior to capture. I wonder if this would still be true on batch capture of an existing clip? Would MC follow the project settings or the original clip setting?
Cheers,

I am capturing from tape via AJA Kona 3 for the first time… well first time to Media Composer. My source is SD from Digibeta via SDI. My project resolution is 1080p29.97, but there is no cross conversion set in the Kona control panel. The captured files are 1080p29.97I must presume the files were uprezzed by the Kona 3 on capture, even though the control panel does not indicate this. Media Composer wouldn't do this in software, would it?Does Avid override the AJA control panel based on the project setting?Do I have to set the project to SD in order to capture SD?Cheers, todTod Hopkins
