Personally, I've met with the guys from Nexidia at a few industry functions and I don't think this is a thing that is quite so much a factor of not having "an obligation to the community." And we know Marianna and various other smart, dedicated Avid employees understand the importance here as well. I don't know what the issues are or the dollar figures or the legal wranglings, but I think that the people who AREN'T lawyers or accountants are trying very hard to get a deal done.
Anyway, just trying to temper the rhetoric while still pointing out that the community really needs a strong Avid and a strong Nexidia and we want you guys to get to the table and make some serious progress. This is clearly hurting Avid more than it's hurting Nexidia though since it's affecting the willingness of many customers to advance to the next version of software. I certainly am going to stay right where I am (version 7.x) for YEARS until this is resolved. But with each passing day, Premiere is looking more appealing...
