I am also seeing this recently on some projects that have had recovered media (it was deleted by an overzealous lead AE) that was relinked.
On MC7.0.4 Win7 with TerraBlock storage. Rebuilding the .avs settings didn't help.
The odd thing for me is that the media that was previously in the sequence displays just fine, but if I cut in a new clip, there are no waveforms, just the volume line.
I'll try different user settings to see if I need to rebuild.
