Any third party program that creates Avid MXF media files, as far as I can tell Avid sells them an avid media toolkit (AMT). From what I can tell when a third party program creates Avid MXF media files, these files have embedded tape name metadata support and not "source file" metadata embedded.
If you want to relink you Avid sequence to these MXF media files created by a third party, I created an Avid workflow that goes into great detail on how to relink in the Avid for this type of situation.If you are going to use the Avid to create the MXF media files (using consolidate/transcode command) then you can also use this method where I just set-up a custom column where I create the metadata match for relinking.I hope this is helpful- scott freeman
