It might be helpful to add a step, which would be to close all bins other than those holding your sequence and the original AMA clips.

Otherwise you might have a bin open with transcoded media selected in it that potentially would be included in the 'relink to selected items in all open bins' dragnet. This may be one reason why relinking only works sometimes.

My way - AMA all original clips. Do not move or rename any source folders. Transcode selects. Edit. When done, dupe sequence and select it, open all bins with original AMA clips. Select all. Use the relink option 'Relink to selected items in all open bins. Cross fingers. Somtimes works.
