You might want to give a call to AJA support. They are very good. I'm sure their engineers would like to get to the bottom of it,

We recorded an event last week on KiPros - portable and rack versions - all at ProRes. All the files play fine on Macs, but it's hit and miss on Windows. And I can't find a common problem.QT Player responds with Error 2048. VLC won't play them. I wanted to bring these files directly into Avid DVD, but that's not working. And they won't AMA.
Some files are one hour and won't play, but two hour files will. So file size doesn't seem to be a factor. And whether the file comes form the KiPro portable or rack mount doesn't make a difference either.
Can anyone tell me what the root of this problem is?
