There are some little new features, but the most important change is the nwe license model.

That's it. Nothing new but it is the basis for their new business model. As I understand it, upgrades and so on appear as part of your subscription (if that's the way you go) rather than paid for if/when you choose to upgrade (and I think that the future for those of us with fully paid-for software will be different).

From my understanding (based on posts in the Avid Community Forums) - MC8 is the same as MC7, but can be purchased outright or subscribed to on a monthly/yearly basis. So the options to access the software have changed - the software itself hasn't yet. I've read that the new features will be in a future release (8.1 maybe?).
