Auratone speakers were the universally accepted standard to see how something might sound on home systems of a consumer nature or a car stereo. They weren't intended to be the reference monitor. Sadly I think that comparing many of the "broadcast" lcds to Auratones is a slam against Auratones. I couldn't tell from the article if the OLED monitors they were no longer developing were consumer models. I've been pleased with my 1st generation PVM-2541 OLED I'd hate to see that line go away. It is not a good sign even if it's the consumer line.
