PS: Anything that's sync sound should be shot at 23.976. Your project should be 1080p/23.976. Anything shot off-speed in-camera for slomo effect (30 or 60fps) should be "conformed" before restriping TC. I usually use Apple Cinema Tools, which rewrites the file header to play the file at 23.976 (23.98). 60fps media will be 720p (I think that's still true on the MkIII). If so, transcode at the native size and then let MC scale it on the timeline.
