As a "little guy" trying to wrangle my feature through post with Avid MC7 on my desktop, wanting to finish sound and color with pro talent at pro facilities, my deep appreciation of what post facility engineers do is getting much, much deeper. I get it now how us "solo artists" have benefited from development for big shops. It's like being given the keys to a battleship but you're the only crew member.
If the Avid cloud in the forecast lets guys like me cut our films in a home studio then connect to a facility to tune up the workflow into them for post sound and color, then I'm all for it.
Meanwhile, I have a long way to get my AMA-linked sequence to where it can either consolidate OR transcode...
