In other words divide and conquer. In the case of motion effects as the offending clip sometimes it's not the actual media that is corrupt but the motion effect is the problem. Sometime removing the motion effect gets things working and sometimes I've found just going into the motion effects editor and promoting or in the case of an already promoted motion effect/timewarp changing the ignore render settings box and changing the type of motion effect to fluid motion etc.... will eliminate the error too Once changed I can usually go back and select the original type of motion effect and it is fixed. Not always but sometimes.
