No slight intended Mr. Roger. I'm trying to make sure I'm not being too picky in today's world. When I saw an experienced Davinci Colorist come into our new bay and work with just the internals and the scope on the Panny monitor I was surprised. As a finishing online editor/colorist I won't work without a scope and I think it's my duty to the product and the client to make sure I have the proper tools to deliver the product. Unfortunately now there is a bean counter who can say well so and so did it without a scope so why can't you. They won't remember the part where they had to send one of the shows graded on our system out of house to a real color suite for a complete redo of the color correction due to excessive noise in the blue channel. If the fact that an external scope makes my work more consistent, faster and legal isn't enough to justify the need I just have to bang my head against the wall. Perhaps it is telling that I just bought my own as my head was starting to hurt from all the banging. ;-)
