[Avid-L2] Re: Blu ray recorder

Hi Pierre,

we tried Blue George from Frontniche when it was a new product as it was advertised as a cool product. Unfortunately it had some problems (at least at this time) and so it wasn't a good solution for us. Even professional BD recorders from JVC don't burn compatible discs as fast as we hoped!

Our solution is to use AvidDVD on the editing systems or on a workstation in our (formerly called) tape room. Our computers are all connected to both our Unity & ISIS and so it is very easy to create simple DVDs or BDs from Avid projects. Users have to click on the sendto command in Avid and after some their disc is burned. Our Z800 computers are quite fast and it couldn't be easier for our users!

On Mac systems we're using Toast with BD Plugin which also works fine and is easy to use. And Mac Blu-ray player is a great product and it is free! See here:

Hth,
Ben
