Oh, I have no doubt the bigger the media companies get, the less they give a shit about you.
Believe me, I have no doubt that I am switching one evil for another. But then, since I started as an FCP editor, I didn't have much choice in the matter of needing to find another pony.
As long as I have owned a computer, I have NEVER had such a significant problem with a software package.
As of the last hour, I have had the Avid Installer fail and shut down and now fail and completely crash my computer.
I'm just happy that it's actually safe for me to jump ship.

I do feel your pain but as far as Adobe we sat on the phone for 3 plus hours trying to get tech support to reauthorize our install after a system drive got munched. The best part was after 3 hours waiting the cell phone dropped off so the next day it was a similar length of time on a land line to get a temp authorization code. Perhaps in the subscription daze it is now better. I'm sticking to CS6 for now.
