Re: [Avid-L2] Macbook Air?

Newer MBP can take 16GB of RAM though not officially supported by Apple. I think 8,x or higher.
Air's CPU is excellent but the "GPU" is not quite as powerful.

My macpro is just old enough that it's starting to annoy me - mostly the maximum allowable memory of 8gig (I only have 4, but why upgrade if I can't have at least 16?) and the spinning media.

So, rather than upgrade this machine, which I mostly use for email, I'm thinking of selling it and replacing it with an 'air,' since when I DO use it for big files / editing / etc., I'm on an external drive anyway.

Anyone editing on a macbook air?  What's that like?   Or is there still a real advantage to the macbook pro now?

Any advice appreciated.
