We go back and forth between Symphony 6.0 and MC 5.0 all the time, never
have issue. In general if you're not using drastically new features Avid
projects tend to be surprisingly backward compatible and forward
compatibility is amazing. I've opened projects from ABVB Avid systems in
versions as new a Media Composer 4.5 (the numbering). I openned a project I
cut on Xpress DV in Symphony 5.0... Even if the project doesn't work for
some reason just the AVB file is usually enough.
