[Avid-L2] Re: External Optical disk USB 2.0 transfer rates?

Just an update on installing the entire FCP 7.0 studio with all the goodies for sound track pro and dvd studio pro. Once all the disk images were copied which took several hours the actual installation took approx 8 to 10 minutes after I opened all the disk images I then launched the Studio installer and enter serial number etc... From then on it did it's own thing with no prompts for any disk insertions and wow was it fast. I'm sure this mainly to do with the preloading of the disk images to the desktop and the fusion SSD drive is fairly empty so I assume all this data went straight to the SSD. One curiosity was under dvd studio pro the idvd themes were greyed out for installation. I don't know if that has anything to do with OS 10.8 or when that was disabled as it's been a while since I installed FCP on a computer. I know this is an Avid list so I can't wait to see how fast media composer 6.5.2 installs. Unfortunately my wife doesn't seem to get as much joy as I do from this, oh well.
