No sign of AVCHD in the Media Creation settings so maybe your 'elite' ACSR meant AVC-Intra? An ACSR might be hot on hardware and tech problems but less good on workflow?
I was going to take a look at some P2 but I don't have any here at home on a Sunday morning!

This seems to be dictated by the ability of some fast import from P2 cards from the news cameras. I'm at home and don't have access to the ISIS or MC to see what the codec is specifically. The station has an "elite" ACSR who has explained all of this to me. On my projects at the station I use DNxHD, but I'm a freelancer there.
