No, multichannel discrete is not standard for a home BluRay setup.
But it is supported.

For maximum compatibility, you should encode your audio as DolbyAC3.

Is that standard for a home 5.1 blue ray setup? In this particular case, my only option was Dolby E or LT/RT which the client was fine with.
