I have long asked for a custom field that I could base the relational color correction on. I routinely add suffixes to clip names to "group them" for source clip name based color correction. The problem is it's teadious to click on the name and then highlight it and then pin point where I want to add the suffix. A custom field like a comment field would make it much easier because I could just click on the field and add any kind of notation that would group the clips for relational color correction. It would mean adding an additional choice to the types of relational color correction. It really doesn't have to be a "custom" field it could be a designated field like "Color Correction ID" that you could add in alphanumeric data and then apply color correction based on that. I'm sure that could then be automated in some way to pull certain metadata from source clips as desired. I go through the material and add suffixes based on the image content and similarities. I'd do the same with the extra field it would just be easier to type the info into a blank field.
