MC.  Yep, just one clip, subdivided.  Just trying to see if there was
something faster than 'select trk 1, option-click cc1, select trk 2,
click cc1' about 200 hundred times.

on MC there is no automation.
on Symph you can automate the process only if you set up the color and clip
relationship

based on your description, it seems that you are bringing in a single
master clip and there is no other metadata for each clip, therefore it
seems like a manual process.
