When you remount the ama volume you must re add the tape name. Most people find that giving the clips a tape name that matches the bin name is the quickest way to do this and makes it easy to duplicate the tape naming. Whether it's necessary I don't know but I'm of the mind set that anything you can do to add stability to the relinking process is a good thing. Some have intimated that there are negative side effects to adding the tape name. I know there are when dealing with standard Avid imports but in my limited use of ama the reel names have helped the process even with Red footage. YMMV
