Yes, interestingly, despite many people's advice, I've noticed that when you remount an AMA volume, the AMA clips do not retain the tape name I gave them through "Modify Source." That, in addition to the fact that I've relinked (admittedly) simple sequences without setting a tape name makes me think (hope) the step is unnecessary.
On the other hand, Dom, I did notice that "Source File" and "Source Path" do sometimes mysteriously disappear from the AMA clips' metadata as well just as you pointed out.
