No.
Could be that they somehow were spanning clips across disks, then weren't able to merge them into single clips during transcode...?

R3D clipnames look like this: "A003C009_0706QY.R3D", where the A-number is the card number, the C-number is the clipnumber on that card, and the first four of the 6 last digits are the date (July 6 in my example), and the last two digits are cookie numbers that make sure that no filename is accidentally used twice. The R3D extension is often cut off when creating the tapename. Most post houses can conform based on just the card&clip-number.
