[Avid-L2] Re: Anyone buy a Wacom lately?

I don't think the wacom mice are wireless in the RF sense. They work on the tablet much like the pen. I know on one of my intuos 3 tables there is a toggle for mouse mode or pen mode. Basically that takes it out of an absolute position mode to a mouse like response so you can pick up the mouse and move it to another part of the tablet without the cursor moving until you drag the mouse. I guess the wacom mouse doesn't have a wire on it, just like the pen, but there is a wire to the tablet unless you are using a bluetooth model.

I have 2's and 3's around the building, but like the 4 a lot. (Though I disable all those buttons on the side.) I use the pen and mouse alternately, though, depending on what I'm doing, I'm no longer just a pen-only guy. ( I don't like the wireless mouse on the intuos, that never even comes out of the box).

My hunch would be the multitouch capable ones might be good for the future, but I can also see somehow that being useless or worse, problematic, with Media Composer. I'm *not* looking at the Cintiqs as I freelance and need something that move easily with me.
